On a Journey - Spanish Architecture in The Arab World

May 18, 2015 to June 17, 2015 - 10:15 to 16:00

The exhibition presents the epitome of the cooperation amongst institutions involved in promoting Spanish architecture globally. On this occasion, the Arab House institution and The Higher Council of Spain’s Associations of  Architects come together in a joint venture to exhibit works of Spanish architecture professionals whose designs spread in many places in the far, yet near, Arab world.

The Spanish Representative Office in Palestine is interested to share the experiences of Spanish architects who designed many distinguished buildings in the Arab world. The project takes into account the evident and explicit connections between Arab and Spanish cultures, as well as, the historical depth manifested in the architectural projects; fruits of the cooperation between the Arab Islamic world and Spanish architects. It is a long-term effort to which the “Arab House” and The Higher Council of Spain’s Associations of Architects adhered to and will continue to in the future as the title of the Exhibition “On a Journey” depicts.

The Exhibition presents a window for the Palestinian public, in general, and the University students, particularly at the Architecture Department, to become acquainted with contemporary architectural models in Arab world cities. It also gives an opportunity for cultural and professional exchange in the field.

The Exhibition is implemented in cooperation with A.M. Qattan Foundation and the Spanish Representative Office in Palestine.
