On June 12, 2024 and as a part of BZU Museum's Hakawi programming, we held this conversation in an attempt to cover the many stories of southern Palestine. These stories obviously include questions about borders and frontiers in our settler colonial context. We also discussed the dearth of literature about the south in Palestinian studies, including how this forced kind of epistemological erasure has been manipulated by Zionism both in terms of politics and intellectualism.
As such, Mansour Nasasra and Khaled Odetallah shared their thoughts about the social and historical specificities and continuities of the south as they mapped the everyday movements of people over time as a social network. We discussed this all within the context of the atmospheric violence that we live through across the geographies of Palestine.
